About
Empowered Family Services came from a need for comprehensive support services for families across Texas. Parents need support in understanding their children and advocating for them, school and youth program staff need training on mental health and trauma to best serve their students, and children and teens need themselves, their caregivers, parents, and loved ones to be fully empowered to meet their needs.
Under our three branches (mental health services, support, and education) we offer a variety of services including CANS assessments, mental health trainings, parent coaching, individual and family therapy, caregiver support groups, and consultations.
We strive to create a world where all children receive the informed support, care, and services they need from their families and support systems.

Bethany Walker, LCSW
Director & Clinician
TX Social Work License #68319
Bethany Walker is a licensed clinical social worker, trauma therapist, and author. With over 10 years of experience, she has worked with Communities in Schools, Buckner Children & Family Services, Wellness Pointe and other organizations serving the East Texas area. Bethany is passionate about empowering children, families and their support systems.
Bethany believes that the best method of therapy is a collaboration between the therapist and the client, with the client leading the way. Trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment, Regulation, and Competency Framework, Bethany incorporates aspects of art therapy, play therapy, sand tray therapy.
Bethany lives in Longview with her daughter and husband. When she isn’t at her private mental health practice, Empowered Family Services, she enjoys horror movies, forgetting to return books at the library, or a vanilla latte at Silver Grizzly.

Ariene Hardin
Client Care Coordinator
Ariene has been providing administrative services for the past 5 years.
Before moving to East Texas in 2015, Ariene attended Texas Lutheran University for her Bachelor’s in Youth Ministry and Liberty University for her Master’s in Pastoral Counseling: Marriage and Family. Ariene lives in Longview with her husband, and two kittens.
Ariene handles scheduling and client intakes and will often be your first point of contact with Empowered Family Services
